Bonnie Mae Kopischke, age 91, died Friday, September 14, 2018 in her home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Butternut with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Salim Kaderbhai will be officiating. Bonnie was born May 1, 1927 and was one of five children born to Earl and Susie (Rains) Robinson. As a child, Bonnie had moved several times but settled in Lake Crystal and graduated from Lake Crystal High School, where she met Robert Kopischke. They were united in marriage on September 25, 1948. Shortly after, they gave birth to their only child, Linda Johnson (Kopischke), and bought their first farm house in Butternut Township. Bonnie worked at the Hanska Hardware Store and the Lake Crystal nursing home, where she later retired.
Grandma was a longtime member of the Butternut Church, loved baking, going for long car rides with her special friend, Sig Svendsen, and most importantly, loved spending time with her family and friends. Grandma was known for making the best red cake and scalloped potatoes and ham.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Linda (Darrell) Johnson of Butternut; grandchildren, Mark (Kelly) Johnson of Hutchinson, Todd Johnson of Lake Crystal, and Jason (Sheila) Johnson of Butternut; six great-grandchildren, Caden, Devin, Morgan, Jordan, Mckayla, and Natalie Johnson; sister, Janice Creamer of Greenwood; and brother, Lowell Robinson of Tucson, Arizona.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Susie; husband, Robert Kopischke; special friend, Sig Svendsen; sisters, Jean Thomas (Robinson) and Wava Freckleton (Robinson).
