Cynthia Lynn Brenna, age 62, of Mankato, died Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held in Kenyon at a later date.  Memorials are preferred to the Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society.

Cindy was born August 4, 1953, to Charles and Josephine (Howrey) Gerrie.  She was a graduate of Edina High School and Winona State University.  Cindy was united in marriage to Maurice Brenna on June 3, 1978, in Mankato.  She was employed as an elementary teacher and was a homemaker.  Cindy enjoyed reading, attending MSU theater plays, and especially loved taking care of her cats.

Cindy is survived by her sister, Becky (Peter) Opachan of Summerfield, NC; niece, Samantha Opachan of Washington, DC; and nephew, Christopher Opachan of Summerfield, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Maurice in 2015.
