Johansen, age 81, of Cokato and formerly of Mankato, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Cokato Manor. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2015 at Belgrade United Methodist Church in North Mankato with Pastor Todd Harris officiating. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and also one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Phyllis was born December 6, 1933 in Lake Crystal to Harold and Ruth (Jones) Larson. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Kenneth H.C. Johansen on July 30, 1966 at Belgrade UMC in North Mankato. Phyllis worked as a hairdresser in the area and then operated her own business for many years out of her home. She was a long-time member of Belgrade UMC and the ladies circle. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially Ruthie and Eli. She also enjoyed flower gardening, doing hair, cooking, entertaining, bingo, hand bells, and going out to eat. Phyllis is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Ryan) Brands, their children, Tyler and Amanda (their children, Xavier and Zander), Gabe and Elijah, Kristin Jane (Alex) Todd and their daughter, Ruth; sister, Pat Bade; sister-in-law, Gloria Marquis; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth in 2012; brother, Pierce.
