Mapleton, MN 56065 (507) 524-3616 Hildred "Hil" Marie Hoechst, age 95, of Mapleton, died on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Ecumen Country Neighbors in Lake Crystal. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton. Visitation will be held from 9-11 on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Mapleton. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Hildred was born on September 6, 1919 to Robert and Marie (Rabenhorst) Bruckhoff in the village of Mapleton. She married Alfred Hoechst at Peace United Church in Minnesota Lake on September 14, 1938. They owned and operated Al's Grocery in Mapleton and they also owned the variety store. Hil took care of foster children for many years. She worked at Nordaas American Homes in the cabinet shop for seven years. She then operated a daycare in her home. The last eight years Hil has been a resident of Ecumen Country Neighbors in Lake Crystal. Hil is survived by three children, Roger (Linda) of Lake Crystal, Janice Harmening of Courtland, and Jeffrey (Debbie) of Lancaster, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Mildred of Mapleton; and sister-in-law, Gwen Bruckhoff of Wells. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred; three brothers, Harold (Alice) Bruckhoff, Robert Bruckhoff, and Pete (Fern) Bruckhoff; in-laws, Palmer (Bernita) Hoechst, Carl (Gladys) Besser, Woodrow (Margaret) Hoechst, and George Stencel; and son-in-law, Roman Harmening.
