Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 Allen "Dick" I. Renne, age 86 of rural Nicollet, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Nicollet with Rev. Todd Petersen officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, rural Nicollet. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church on Thursday. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Allen "Dick" Renne was born April 30, 1928 to Hubert and Suzanne (Dieteman) Renne in Mankato, Minnesota. Dick was united in marriage to Frances Guentzel on September 6, 1950 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Dick worked at the Chicago/Northwestern Railroad for 42 years and also in 1954 he started farming in the Nicollet area. Dick was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Nicollet, Catholic Order of Foresters, VFW Post 950, and American Legion Post 510 Nicollet. Dick enjoyed fishing, westerns on TV, farming, cats, dogs, coffee in the mornings with friends, and most of all time with his family. Dick is survived by his wife, Frances of rural Nicollet; five children, Randy (Janet) Renne of Nicollet, Rhonda (Phil) Kongshaug of Racine, WI, Ron Renne of Britton, SD, Roxanne (Terry) Larsen of North Mankato; Rob Renne of rural Nicollet; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Renne. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Eileen and Cleo. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
