Mankato Mortuary 1001 N Riverfront Dr Mankato, MN 56001 Timothy Lee Anderson Timothy Anderson, age 27 of Mankato, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Biren officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at the church. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Arrangements are with Mankato Mortuary. Timothy was born on February 11, 1987 in Mankato, MN to Tracy and Lydia (Garcia) Anderson. Timothy joined the military in 2006 and was enlisted until 2010. During his enlistment, Tim was deployed for 18 months in Iraq Operation Freedom; he was a Specialist Rank E4, Fire Infantry Support Team/13 Fox. He was awarded numerous awards during his military career including: Army Commendation medal, Army Achievement medal, Nation Defense Service medal, Global War on Terrorism Service medal, Iraq Campaign medal with Campaign Star, Army Service ribbon, and Overseas Service ribbon (second award). Tim was currently attending college pursuing a nursing degree with dreams of becoming a hospice nurse. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Tim had many hobbies that included; video games, watching favorite cartoons, being outdoors, astronomy, Minnesota Vikings fan, and trivia. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and his family meant the world to him. Tim is survived by his mother, Lydia Garcia Anderson; children, Zachary Ryan Grooms and Courtney Jane Anderson; siblings, Faith (Isaiah) Allen, Benjamin Allen Anderson, and Christopher Preston Anderson; nieces and nephews, Kaylee Johnson and Joshua Allen; grandmothers, Guadalupe Soto Garcia and Linnea Marie Berger; and many other relatives. Tim is preceded in death by his father, Tracy Anderson; brother, Andrew Isaac Anderson; grandfathers, Ciro Emillion Garcia and Verle Lee Anderson.
