Marjorie was born August 3, 1928 in Pipestone to Delbert and Wanda Kilbride. As a young girl she went to school in Pipestone until the 8th grade when she became ill with Rheumatic Fever and was unable to continue her education; however, Marjorie never stopped learning and encouraged others to do the same. She worked as a waitress before marrying Raymond Olson. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Linda and Susan. They later divorced. Marjorie then met Norman Heise in Mankato at his family's restaurant. They eventually married on June 17, 1955 and together had four children, Debra, Catherine, Curtis and Sherry. Marjorie loved her gardens and enjoyed designing wedding flowers and cakes. Her biggest love in life was her family; especially her 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Even neighbor kids enjoyed getting a familiar wave and hello out of Marjorie as she sat on her front porch. After Norm's passing in 2002, Marjorie made the decision to go back to school and complete her education; receiving her GED in May of 2005 at the age of 76. Her advice to others while giving the graduation speech was to "Get off your duff and get out there." She taught this to her children and grandchildren; all of whom she was proud to see set their own educational goals. Marjorie is survived by her children, Linda ( Bruce) Orth of Madison Lake, Susan Heise of Mankato, Catherine (Joseph) Wittrock of Mapleton, Curtis Heise of Hales Corners, WI and Sherry (Jerome) Thul of North Mankato; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Darlene Blake; sister in-law Phyllis Spear. She was welcomed to Heaven by her husband, Norman; daughter, Debra; grandson David; and sister, Patricia Myer. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Mankato Clinic, especially Dr. Stitt, Dr. Storvick, and Dr. Conwars. Also the staff at Mayo Health Systems and Mayo Hospice, especially Dr. Bartlett.
