Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Glenn Raymond Dezell, age 76, of Mankato died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato, with Rev. John Kunz, officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, Mankato and will continue one hour before service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials may be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or the Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato, Heart Center. Glenn was born April 1, 1938 to Raymond "Ole" and Mary (Warmka) Dezell in Minnesota Lake Township, Faribault County, Minnesota. He attended parochial school at Easton thru the 9th grade and graduated from Minnesota Lake High School in 1956. He served his country with the U.S. Army from February 1957-February 1959. He was united in marriage to Carol A. Rathai on April 11, 1959 at St. John the Baptist Church, Minnesota Lake. Glenn farmed from 1959-1970 near Minnesota Lake. He also did trucking for Leo Walter Livestock and Nordaas American Homes and carpentry for Walter Stenzel and Nordaas American Homes. Glenn and his family moved to St. Clair in 1970 and then to Mankato in 1989. Glenn was employed for August Deike Transfer from 1970 until his retirement in November of 1998. From the mid 1980's until 1992, Glenn farmed the family farm and drove truck full time. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and had served as an usher. He shared his many talents for carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping for his friends and family. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, dominos, walking, bike riding, helping his children with home projects. He enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren's sporting events, morning coffee with friends, and being with his family. Glenn is survived by his wife, Carol of Mankato; three children, Tom Dezell of Brooklyn Park, Teri (Bob) Thompson-Hobart of Lake Crystal, Tami (Doug) Galema-Liebl of North Mankato; seven grandchildren, Paula Thompson, Heather Dezell, Ben Dezell, Kaelyn Dezell, Sara Galema, Kyle Liebl, and Jace Liebl; sister-in-law, Mary Dezell of Longmont, CO; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie (Gordy) Braun of Mankato; nieces and nephews, Troy (Linda) Braun and Brad (Denise) Braun, Mike Dezell and Julie Dezell; the Evan Family; close friends, neighbors, and relatives. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Mary in 1998 and Raymond "Ole" in 2002; son, Todd in 2004; brother, Duane in 1999; father-in-law, Pete Rathai in 1987; mother-in-law, Elnora (Wanzek) Rathai Evan in 2009.
