Gaiser, age 97 of Mankato, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Pathstone Crossing with his family by his side. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2014 at Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Bob Stover officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Pathstone Crossing Memory Care or Ahlzeimer's Association. Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Wayne was born May 3, 1917 to Fred and Azelia (Cook) Gaiser in Nobels County, MN on the family farm. He graduated from Worthington High School, and went on to the Mankato Business College. Wayne honorably served his country in WWII with the U.S. Army, and was proud to be a part of the European Theater, and battles of Normandy. On November 23, 1942, Wayne was united in marriage to Delores Hartmann in Neosho, MO. Wayne was an accountant for Fairmont Railway Motors in Fairmont. He was active in the Boy Scouts and past member of and taught Sunday School at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Wayne was member of Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato. He enjoyed going for walks, reading the newspaper, traveling, gardening, and bird watching. Wayne is survived by his son, Steve (Donna Helin) Gaiser; daughter, Carla (Bruce) Butcher; grandchildren, Aaron (Jessica) Butcher, Adam (Krystal) Butcher, Jared (Jeanna) Gaiser, Jodi Gaiser, and Jeremy (Katie) Gaiser; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Garcia and June (Pete) Peters; former daughter-in-law, Delores Gaiser; and nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Delores in 2001; grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrea Butcher; and three sisters.
