Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, Minnesota 56003 507-388-2288 Juanita Vulcan, age 89 of Mankato, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Scott E. Olson, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at church. Burial will be in Belgrade Swedish Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Juanita was born July 7, 1925 to John and Alta (Clark) Eccles in Worthington, MN. She graduated from Mankato Beauty School and worked as a hairdresser for several years. Juanita was united in marriage to Raymond Vulcan on March 6, 1944 in Vancouver, WA and together they were blessed with 10 children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a cook in various restaurants in and around the Mankato area. Juanita was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, served with the Ladies Aid and quilting circle. She was a member of the Nicollet American Legion Auxiliary. Juanita was an avid seamstress and enjoyed watching the Twins and the Vikings. Juanita is survived by her children, Raleen (Curtis) Tolzmann, Yolanda (Eugene) Kuhns, Douglas (Heidi) Vulcan, Dennell (Pam) Vulcan, Kollett (Bill) Kaehlert, Raymond (Suzanne) Vulcan, Leland (Diane) Vulcan, Bryan (Darla) Vulcan, David Vulcan, and Troy Vulcan; 30 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ginny Johnson, Rosetta Hruby, Sylvia Compton, Judy Griffth, Barb Riaber; brother, Bob Eccles and Cliff Eccles; and sister-in-law, Audrey Tolzmann. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 1991; sister, Etta Stuber; and brother, John Eccles.
