Mankato Mortuary 1001 N Riverfront Dr Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 Marvin Moret Marvin Moret, age 80 of Mankato, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 5, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato, with Pastor Mike Omtvedt officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Hosanna Lutheran Church or the donor's choice. Marvin was born on November 26, 1933 to William and Jeanette Moret in Boyden, Iowa. Marvin was united in marriage to Wineva ("Wendy") Kosters on December 10, 1954 in Middleburg, Iowa. Marvin's work career included: meat processing manager, a private trucking firm, a manager and regional manager of convenience stores, and lastly, he owned and operated Belle Mar Video in Mankato. Marvin was an active member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, serving as a trustee for several years. He was also on the association of a townhome complex. Marvin loved to give a helping hand and spent many years doing so as a volunteer for VINE and Lutheran Social Services. Marvin enjoyed playing Sudoku and was an avid Minnesota sports fan. His greatest joy in his life was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his wife, Wineva "Wendy"; his children and their families: son, Mike (Brenda) Moret, grandson, Mark (Angela) Moret and son, Anthony, and grandson, Matt Moret; son, Daniel Loren (Paula Staight) Moret; son, Kevin, and grandson, Christopher (Karen Powers) Moret and daughter, Nealyn, grandson, Daniel, and granddaughter, Kelly and son, Jaxon; son, Kirk (Cheryl) Moret, grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, and Adam; daughter, Kathy (Todd) Donahue, granddaughter, Kayla (Micaiah) Becker and children, Jayda and Eli, granddaughter, Kirsten Donahue (Tommy Lindblom) and daughter Madison; six sisters, Lavonne (Rod) Grooters, Linda Heiliger, Nelva (LeRoy) Rohlfs, Cheryl (Ken) Bennett, Carol Moret, and Marcia (Phil) Sietstra; and two sisters-in-law, Max Moret and Doris Moret. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael Donahue; and his three brothers, Leroy ("Bud"), Harvey, and Ronald ("Butch").
