Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Mankato resident Mark "Sparky" Bausch, 101, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Oaklawn Health Care Center. Funeral service is 10:30 am on Friday, October 3rd at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato, with Rev. John Kunz officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, on Thursday evening, October 2nd at Mankato Mortuary with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or the Morson-Ario VFW Post #9713. Mark was born on February 4th, 1913 to William and Mayme (Hoffman) Bausch in Ashton, Iowa. On May 3rd, 1941, he married Cornelia "Connie" Johannes at St. Mary's Chapel in Ashton, Iowa. Mark served in the 224th Army Division during WWII before coming home to his job as a postal worker where he worked until his retirement. Upon retiring, he and Connie moved to Longville, MN, where he did some work as a handyman and enjoyed numerous outdoor activities. In 1985, they moved to Mankato where he was an active member of both the VFW and American legion. Mark is survived by his daughter, Suzann Voss and her husband Whitey; one sister, Helen Seastedt and her husband Arnold; six grandchildren: Julie (Edgar) Lopezlena, Scott (Tzitel) Voss, Michelle (Jeff) Glover, Sara (Bob) Geiman, Kevin (Adrienne) Voss, and Heidi Bausch; five great grandchildren: Jacob Voss, Ceceilia Voss, Lydia Voss, Sophia Geiman, and Bobby Geiman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia; son, William; and three siblings: Norbert, Thomas, and Paul Bausch.
