Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 (507) 388-2288 Dorothy Mae Hannum, age 75, of Mankato, died Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Dorothy was born December 12, 1938, in Stoddard, WI to Leif and Mabel (Jensen) Helgeson. She was a 1956 graduate of De Soto High School in De Soto, WI. Dorothy was united in marriage to Roger Hannum on September 5, 1959, in Stoddard. She retired from Target in Mankato following 15 years of employment. After her retirement, she and Roger spent many summers at Beaver Trail Campground. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, various games, bingo, dominoes, puzzles, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Roger; three children, Vickie (Mark) Huebl, Ron (Nancy) Hannum, and Barb Lamont and her special friend, Troy Vandermoon; seven grandchildren, Courtney (Joe), Derek, Matt, Kassy, Jeremy, Amy, and Sammy; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Emmett, Kendrah, Easton, and Landin; sister, Juna Manske; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Jim) Doig and Thelma Helgeson; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lester; and sister, Carol.
