Jeanette Ione Stierlen, age 92, of North Mankato, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System " Mankato, following complications from a stroke.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2014, at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Dan Horn officiating. Interment will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Belgrade Avenue U.M.C.

Jeanette was born on December 12, 1921, in Eagle Lake. She was the daughter of Fred and Grace (Block) Kisro. She was united in marriage to Russell Stierlen on November 8, 1937, in North Mankato. Jeanette was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of Belgrade Avenue U.M.C. Jeanette enjoyed playing cards, reading, fishing with her family, participating in church activities, and visiting with friends and family.

Jeanette is survived by her son, Dennis (Joy) Stierlen of Champlin; daughter-in-law, Rose Stierlen of Basile, LA; four grandchildren, Todd (Lisa) Stierlen, Tammy Stierlen, Sandra (Steve) Douglas, and Jeff (Valerie) Stierlen; nine great-grandchildren, Chelsea Brende, Tyler Brende, Russell (Bailey) Stierlen III, Nathan Douglas, Nick Douglas, Rhonda Coker, Luke Coker, Ryder Stierlen, and Bryce Stierlen; two great-great-grandchildren, Natalie and Braedon Brende; brother, Jay Kisro; sister, Delores (Bill) Vanderburg; also nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell in 2002; infant son, Gary; son, Russell Jr.; sister, Rosemond Olson; brother, Rex (Hazel) Kisro.
