Rudolph Eugene Friedrichs, age 93 of St. Paul and formerly of Mankato, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Cerenity Sr. Care in St. Paul.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Greg Schaffer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Rudolph E. Friedrichs was born December 31, 1919 in Mankato to William and Margaret (Walport) Friedrichs. He served his country in the US Army during World War II. Rudy was united in marriage to Gladys Kurth on September 27, 1943 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. He worked construction in Minnesota for many years and ended his working career at Willaert Construction in Mankato.
Rudy was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rosemount, MN. He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Forrester's and the Post 11 American Legion in Mankato. Rudy enjoyed people and was a good conversationalist; he also enjoyed reading, and playing cards.
Rudy is survived by his six children, Judy Friedrichs of San Jose, CA, Helen Friedrichs of San Jose, CA, Edward (Marcia) Friedrichs of Apple Valley, Linda Friedrichs of San Jose, CA, Carl (Kathy) Friedrichs of Inver Grove Heights, and Peggy Friedrichs of St. Paul; nine grandchildren, Kim, Tim, and Matt (Dana) Friedrichs, Andrew (Becky) Friedrichs, Becca Friedrichs, Sara (Mike) Turpin, Amy, Daniel, and Mark Friedrichs; three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Bryler, and Miranda Friedrichs.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys on August 5, 1987; four brothers; and two sisters.
