Ann Ella Schorn, age 102, of North Mankato, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato with Rev. Peter Nosbush, officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:30 " 10 a.m., Saturday at church. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, St. Clair. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ann was born January 11, 1911 in Chisholm, MN to John and Theresia (Menestrina) Fontana. Ann's parents died when she was two and she was raised by Joseph and Lana (Counter) Muellerleile of Smiths Mill. She was united in marriage to Clement A. Schorn on June 26, 1934 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Clair. She lived in St. Clair, Pipestone, Jordan, and then North Mankato to be near family.
Ann's life was her faith, family, friends, and her service to others. She was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her care, generosity, and prayers, touched many lives.
Ann lived her life believing the Lord, trusting that her reward comes from God.
Ann is survived by two children, Dr. James (Darlene) Schorn of North Mankato and Sharon (Frank) Velishek of Prior Lake; four grandchildren, Tanya Velishek of Jordan and her children, Ariana and Emilo; Dr. Jonathan (Tracy) Schorn of Inver Grove Heights and their children, Rachel and Julia; Christine Schorn of Apple Valley; Elizabeth (Michael) Kelly of Omaha, NE and their children, Noah and Gracelyn.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Clement in November 1983; brother, Charles (Harriet) Fontana; and sister, Mary (George) Nelson.
