Marion Elizabeth Schulte, 88, of Farmington and formerly of North Mankato, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at 2 Caring Hands in Lakeville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a hospice organization of the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Marion was born October 6, 1924, to Alfred and Florence (Schlumpberger) Eichten in Wanda, MN. She attended grade school in Wanda and graduated from Lamberton High School. Marion came to Mankato in 1943 and attended Mankato Commercial College. She married Clarence "Red" Schulte on February 26, 1946, in Mankato. They later divorced. Marion was employed by Hubbard Milling, Ss. Peter and Paul Cafeteria, Mid-Tex, E.B. Crabtree, A.H. Hermel, and retired in January of 1988 after 17 years with NSP. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She also was a past president of the Morson Ario VFW Auxiliary, life member of the VFW 950 Auxiliary, and American Legion Post 11 Auxiliary. Marion enjoyed reading and volunteering at the VINE Thrift Store and Summit Center.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Joleen (Steve) Larson of Farmington; two grandchildren, Barb Larson (Todd Manzi) of Apple Valley and Brad Larson (Kat) of Minneapolis; two great-grandchildren, Kelly and Erik Larson; two brothers, Al (Marge) Eichten of Mankato and Francis Eichten of Walnut Grove; sister, Theresa Grupe of Apache Junction, AZ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mark Eichten.
