Marcella L Hillegas

Marcella Lillian "Marcy" Hillegas, age 70, of Mankato, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Immanuel " St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Jay Dahlvang officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the Multiple Scleroses Society. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Marcy was born on September 17, 1939 in Mankato. She was the daughter of Ervin and Lillian (Erickson) Bienapfl. Marcy was a graduate of Mankato High School and Mankato Teachers College. She taught Business at Eisenhower High School in Rialto, CA for her whole career. Marcy was united in marriage to Jack Hillegas on May 27, 1995 in Lake Crystal. She moved back to Mankato in May 2004. Marcy was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Blue Earth County Historical Society. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends.

Marcy is survived by her nephew, Doug (Lori) Meixell of Lake Crystal; grand-nephews, Nate and Nick Meixell; brother-in-law, Dean (Sandy) Meixell of Lake Crystal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack in 2004; sister, Marian.
