Eric Page Jacobson age 39, of Plymouth, died July 15, 2010 after a lifelong battle with depression. Beloved son, nephew, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was born on May 15, 1971 in Rochester. Preceded in death by grandparents, Rudolph and Helen Jacobson and Cecil and Mildred Jones; uncles, Norman Jacobson and Tom Richards; and aunt, Marilyn Ferdon. Survived by his parents, Lyle and Kay Jacobson of Mankato, siblings Amy (Michael) Peters of Oklahoma City, OK, and Lori (Nathan) Gardner of St. Louis Park, MN; nieces Rachel and Nora; and nephews Aaron and Alan; aunts, Marcia Richards of Mankato; Judith (Curt) Anderson of Portland, OR; uncle, Tim Ferdon of Duluth and cousins.
A graduate of Mankato East in 1989 and Creighton University in Omaha, NE, where he was an active member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, Eric lived in Las Vegas, NV and Los Angeles, CA and pursued acting and comedy. He returned to the Twin Cities and enjoyed success in the late 90's as a feature act and headline comedian. He was also a talented cartoonist and graphic designer. He enjoyed working at Saxton-Ferris International in Minnetonka as an advertising and in-house graphic designer, and as a Web designer at Internet Broadcasting in St. Paul. Eric enjoyed fishing, scriptwriting and videography, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and time spent with his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 " 8 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 North Riverfront Drive, Mankato, MN 56001. Celebration of Eric's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday July 24 at the First Presbyterian Church of Mankato, 220 Hickory Street, Mankato, MN 56001 with Dawn Carder officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Humane Society (BENCHS) and for the new Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota or the donor's choice.
