Edythe M. Leas, age 89, of North Mankato, died on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Funeral Service for Edythe will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, in North Mankato with Rev. Dawn Carder officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 7, 2014 from 4:00 " 7:00 pm at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Residents' Activity Fund at Monarch Meadows.

Edythe Mae (Williams) Leas was born July 4, 1924 to Edward and Rebekah Williams in Butternut Valley Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1942. On February 26, 1949 she married John Leas. Edythe worked for many years at Best Western Garden Inn in Mankato. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was known for always telling a good joke.

Edythe is survived by 2 daughters, Rebekah (Larry) Barnes of Le Center, Mona (Dennis) Johnson of North Mankato; 5 grandchildren, Troy (Heather) Barnes, Marni (David) Martin, Scott Johnson, Chad Johnson, Tara (Andy) Fitch; 4 great-grandchildren, Justice, Cash, and Bronx Martin and Peyton Barnes; niece, Loretta Williams; 4 nephews, Murray (Jan) Osten, Ster Monroe, Stan Monroe, Dane Williams.

Edythe is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; her siblings, Mayo Williams, Burton Williams, Merlyn Williams, Raymond Williams, Bernice Monroe, Mabel Kittleson, and Lee Williams; niece, Sheila Monroe; and nephew, Gary Osten.
