Lenora C. "Lenore" Wallace, loving mother, grandmother and friend, fell asleep in death at the age of 100 on February 13, 2014 at her home in Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.

A Celebration to Honor Lenore's Memory will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato with visitation one hour prior. The family will hold a private burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.

Lenore was born August 30, 1913 to Leonard and Lulu (Ledebur) Meschke in Fairmont Township, Martin County, Minnesota. After graduating from Fairmont High School, she assisted with household chores and cared for her ailing mother until her death in 1934. She married Hyal "Jack" Wallace in 1935.

Lenore was a long-time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She worked at Red Owl in Fairmont and Mankato, always striving to provide her customers with top-quality service, and received a President's Courtesy Citation in 1973. She also worked at Hale's Market in Madelia. After retiring at age 65, she did food demonstrations for various companies at Country Store in Mankato until mid-1986. During this time, she still found the energy to travel to Fairmont and Rochester to support sick family members and to be a loving, involved grandma.

Lenore is survived by her daughter, Vicki Langevin of Mankato; grandchildren, Tanya (Tony) Prehn of Eagle Lake and Lee (Jodi) Langevin of Kasota; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Megan, Kayla, and Miya Geisler; Tanesha, Ethan, Mariah, Logan, Hunter, and Zackary Prehn; Alyssa and Lani Langevin; great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Lenora Kay Geisler; and many much loved nieces and nephews.

Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; twin stillborn daughters; brothers, Floyd, Harvey, Leonard, and Leno; sisters, Ruth and Geneva; nephew, Richard White; and nieces, Kristine Meschke and Sandra Blom.
