Ruth M. Krummel, age 82, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Crystal, with Rev. Randal Lubbers, officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery, rural Lake Crystal. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Andreas Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, or the donor's choice.

Ruth was born May 27, 1931 to William A. and Ida Belle (Rono) Neubauer in Bashaw Township, Brown County, Minnesota. She graduated from Comfrey High School and attended Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Burton A. Krummel in Judson on March 22, 1952. Ruth was employed by Montgomery Ward as a credit clerk for several years before working for H & C Electric Supply which later became Graybar until retiring.

Ruth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Crystal where she served as treasurer of the Women's PWC, Post 294 American Legion Auxiliary of Lake Crystal, and the Lake Crystal Lioness Club. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, bingo, golf, working in her garden, Sudoku, going to casinos, and especially spending time with friends and family.

Ruth is survived by a son, Greg (Vickie) of Appleton, WI; a daughter, Deb Hawker of Lake Crystal; eight grandchildren: Bill Hawker and special friend, Kalani Harris and her children, Amarus, Jaden, and Jasper, Jeff (Crystal) Hawker both of Mankato, Amy (Nikko) Segal of Eagle Lake, Brad (Ariane) Hawker of Kasota, Allison (Shane) Moseng, Laura, Rebecca, and Jill Krummel all of Appleton, WI; twelve great-grandchildren: Jordan, Breanna, Madison, and Carter Hawker, Hayden, Makynna and Peyson Hawker, Austin and Asia Segal, Alayna and Kalyse Hawker, Blake Moseng; three sisters, Alvera Fluegel of Inver Grove Heights, Ethel Meier of New Port Richey, Florida, and Beata Schroader of Alden; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burt on June 28, 2010; grandson, Adam Hawker; great-granddaughter, Hailey Hawker; and son-in-law, Bill Hawker Sr.; two brothers, Howard Neubauer and Vincent Neubauer.
