Johnny D. Schruin, age 46 of Mankato, died unexpectedly of natural causes Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair with Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 1 " 4 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2014 and one hour before the service on Monday ALL at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

John D. Schruin was born September 21, 1967 to Demeter and Christa (Panowitsch) Schruin in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1986. John was united in marriage to Bonnie VanDenAcre on November 8, 1997 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. He was honored in his 20 year relationship with his wife, Bonnie. John worked for his father Matt in his construction business before starting out on his own construction and snow removal company.

John enjoyed softball, horseback riding, cat fishing on the river, hunting and especially bear hunting. Also loved to spend time with friends, his family, but most of all attending his sons sporting events.

John is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two sons Samuel and Noah all of rural Mankato; mother, Christa Schruin of Mankato; three sisters, Ramona (Douglas) Coopman, Pam (Doug) Seys, Lisa (John) Kuether all of rural Mankato; Bonnie's eight brothers and sisters; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; nephew, Oliver; mother-in-law, Ruth VanDenAcre.
