Frances E. Evans-Arthur, age 93, of Mankato, died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Mankato House Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. James Ahlquist and Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial in Jerusalem Cemetery, rural Judson, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to VINE or Messiah Lutheran Church.
Frances was born December 24, 1909 in Vernon Center Township, Blue Earth County to Andy and Hattie (Meixell) Pfeffer. She was a graduate of Garden City High School. On July 17, 1934 she married Paul Evans in Winnebago, Minnesota. He died in 1982. On June 28, 1986, she married George Arthur in North Mankato. He died in 1990.
Frances was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Eagles Club Auxiliary 269, and Home Extension Club of Lake Crystal. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Earl Taylor of Mankato; three grandchildren and their spouses, Bob and Kathy Taylor of North Mankato, Paul and Melissa Taylor of Mankato, Tami and Jamie Bernardson of Eagle Lake; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney Springer, Stephanie Taylor, Kaitlyn Taylor, Scott Taylor, Cody Taylor, Zachary Bernardson, Kallie Taylor, Alexis Bernardson; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, five brothers, and two sisters.
