A Celebration of Life for Victor Biedscheid, age 90 of Mankato will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service. A luncheon will be served during this time.

Victor William Biedscheid was born November 13, 1923 in Mankato to Joseph and Magdalen (Wilds) Biedscheid. Victor attended Loyola High School. He was inducted into the United States Army January 23, 1943 and honorably served until his discharge January 7, 1946.During his time in the service he served with the 446th Engineer Base Depot Company during WWII. He was active in the battles and campaigns in Central Burma and India Buram. Victor married Joan Ann Baier September 6, 1947. Together the couple had four children whom they were very proud of. Victor spent his career as a plumber and was a partner in central plumbing and heating for 45 years. In his spare time, Vic spent many hours fishing at his cabin on German Lake, deer hunting, and even taking up golf in his later years. Joan Ann died July 24, 1999. He was a lifetime member of the WWII Last Man's Club, Eagles Club and VFW.

Victor Biedscheid died August 12, 2014 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato at the age of 90.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Melia) Biedscheid of Gold Hill, OR, Carol Biedscheid of Carbondale, CO, Kathleen (Gary) Tinker of Kingston, N.H., Steve (Diane) Biedscheid of Mankato; Six grandchildren, Elyse (Brett) Anderson of Mankato, Caitlin and Parker Biedscheid of Gold Hill, OR, Alexander and Dana Tinker of Kingston, NH, Maggie Carbone of Carbondale, CO; great grandson, Evan Anderson of Mankato; sister, Alvera (Harvey) Brooks of Mankato; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan Ann; special friend, Annabelle Hinkle; brothers, Clem Donald, Clarence and Benjamin; sister, Delores Reimers.
