David spent many hours outdoors fishing and hunting with his daughter, Savannah; dogs, Bailey and Dakota; and friends. He learned to fish from his dad and uncle, Raymond while on fishing trips together to Lake Vermillion. His favorite memories were made in Canada on four generation fishing trips. David was a proud dad to the love of his life, Savannah and enjoyed cheering her and the MSU hockey team on. David was currently working as a purchasing agent for MTU and part time at the Bobber Shop, where he loved interacting with the customers; sharing his knowledge of fishing and of the local hot spots. David died June 6, 2014 at the Mayo Hospital in Mankato, but his life will continue on through the lives of those he touched being an organ donor.

David made the world a better place and will greatly be missed by his daughter, Savannah of Mankato; her mom, Sandy Plante of Shakopee; mother, Velda Quandt of Buffalo Lake; sister, Susan (Dirk Gustafson) of Minneapolis; brother, Richard (Tammy) of Stewart; parents-in-law, Larry (Janice) Plante of North Mankato; sister-in-law, Jackie (Jim) Mead of Mankato; many aunts, uncles, and friends.
