Dale S. Tjosvold, age 96, of Mankato, died on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his home.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Northview - North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family prefers no flowers.

Dale was born on October 16, 1917 in Granite Falls, MN to Severin and Deanna (Gordhamer) Tjosvold. He graduated from Breck High School in St. Paul and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Minnesota. Dale was married to Margaret Williams and they had three children. They later divorced. On July 3, 1979, Dale was united in marriage to Mona Thissen. Dale worked for 30 years as a plant manager for Mid-America Dairy in Minneaopolis and later as a U.S.D.A. dairy inspector. After retirement, Dale raised feeder pigs to keep busy. Dale was an excellent golfer and won numerous tournaments over the years. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid sports fan, Go Vikings! Most of all, he loved God and his family.

Dale is survived by his wife, Mona; ex-wife, Margaret; children, Dale Tjosvold Jr., Mary Tjosvold-Dunsmore (Larry), and Dean (Jenny) Tjosvold; grandchildren, Jason, Wesley, Lena, and Colleen; step-children, Jeff (Kim) Thissen, Shelly (Kelly) Yahnke, and Dan (Brenda) Thissen; and step-grandchildren, Erika and Jacob Thissen, and John, Brooke, and Brittany Thissen. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Orton, William, Herbert, Walter, Edwin, and Arthur; and sister, Helen.
