A Celebration of Life for Maxine Eleanor (Henke) Ikier, age 84 of Mankato, formerly of Amboy, will be held Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:00 am at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary in North Mankato. Visitation will be held Monday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in the Vernon Center Cemetery at a later date.

Maxine was born in Preston, MN to Fred and Mabel (Groth) Henke on June 27, 1929. Growing up in Blue Earth, she was the fifth of six children. On June 8, 1957 she married Robert Ikier at the EUB church in Blue Earth. Together, the couple had two children, Scott and Deb. Maxine died June 3, 2014 at Laurels Edge.

Maxine is survived by her husband, Robert of Mankato; children, Scott (Kathy) Ikier of Amboy, Deb Ikier of Amboy; grandchildren, Angie (Trav) Caven of North Mankato and Lisa Ikier of Mankato; great grandchildren, Nora and Abigail Caven; brothers, Harland (Shirley) Henke of Farmington, Bob (Marce) Henke of Amarillo, TX.

Maxine was preceded in death by her sisters, Arlene, Margie and Loucile; brothers-in-law, Harmon, Gary, and Marvin.
