Benita Helen Reed-Korth, age 90, of Mankato, died on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Pathstone Living. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 22nd 2014 at 11:00 am at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21st from 4:00 " 7:00 pm at Northview Mortuary with a 4pm prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Benita was born July 19, 1923 in Mankato, MN, to Clem and Johanna (Neugebauer) DeRemer. She was married to Harold Reed October 9, 1948 until his death in 1984. She spent much of her time volunteering for numerous programs throughout the community and making many life-long friends. Benita was married to Frances Korth on April 17, 2001 until his death in 2007. She was a member of the Summit Center CDA, VFW Auxiliary and Good Counsel Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time gardening, most recently in her special garden at Pathstone Living. Benita loved spending time with friends and family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Donna Steele of Edina Michael (Lynda) Farmer of Wichita, KS, , Thomas (Karen) Reed of Forest Falls, CA, Bradley Reed of Mankato, Ron (Jocelyn) Reed of Everett, WA; sister "in-law, Gert DeRemer of North Mankato; step-children, Theresa (Dr. William) Shores of St. Peter, Mary (Dr. Steve) Meisel of Woodbury, Thomas (Becky) Korth of Mankato, Richard (Helbe) Korth of Burnsville; 24 nieces and nephews; 16 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clem and Johanna DeRemer; husband Harold Reed, husband Frances Korth; brothers, Vern DeRemer, Glen DeRemer and Robert DeRemer; sisters, Rosemary Robinson, Kathleen Groeneck, Vivian Mintz; nephew, Gary DeRemer; niece; Susan DeRemer; son-in "law, Gehrig Biehn.
