And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker." So God made a farmer. Ronald Michels was that farmer. Mass of Christian burial for Ron Michels, age 79 of North Mankato will be held at 11:00 am May 24, 2014 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet with Fr, Todd Petersen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 23rd at Northview North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning. Interment will follow the service at St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery.

Ronald Michels died on May 16, 2014 at his home after a courageous battle.

He will be missed by many, including his wife of 57 years, Shirley; children Scott (Ann) Michels of Lake Washington " Amelia and Walter, Sheila (Steve Radke) Michels of St. Peter " Zachary Johnson; sisters, Lois Jagerson, Myrna Yenter; brother, David (Rita) Michels. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Jim Jagerson.
