Ralph R. Baumgartner, age 80 of Mankato, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Cottagewood Senior Community.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, with Rev. John Petersen officiating. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Ralph was born July 23, 1933 in George and Edith (Haslip) Baumgartner in Mankato. He worked as a machinist for Continental Can and also worked with his father and brother on the family farm. Ralph was a member of First Christian Church. He enjoyed having coffee with friends, watching NASCAR, traveling with his brother, fishing, and time spent with family at the cabin. Ralph will always have a special place in the hearts of his family and friends.

Ralph is survived by his children, Cindy (Gary) Woods, Eagle Lake, Bryan (Michelle) Baumgartner, Gaylord, Brad (Rita) Baumgartner, Madison Lake, and Connie (Kevin) Baynes, Mankato; grandchildren, Bridget (Jim) Klein, Kasota, Jason (Michelle) Lechner, Eagle Lake, Ethan (Alexis) Woods, Good Thunder, Taylor Miller, Gaylord, MaKenzie and Gillian Baumgartner, Madison Lake, Kyle (Ellen) Baynes, Elko, and Chris Baynes, Mankato; great-grandchildren, Jameson, Daniel, Rlyan, Neveah, and Arianna; brother, Duane Baumgartner; sister, Betty Jane (Warren) Riese; and many nieces and nephews.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents.
