Ardella Bruns, age 91, of Mankato, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Pathstone Crossing in Mankato.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Hospice or to the donors choice.

Ardella was born on April 23, 1923 to Martin Sr. and Emilie Bode. She was united in marriage to Fred on October 21, 1943 in Nicollet, MN. Fred and Ardella farmed until their move to Arizona in 1970 where they resided until 1997. She was a volunteer and an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Ardella was an avid walker, walking several miles a day; her favorite place outside of Immanuel Lutheran Church was the Red Jacket Trail in West Mankato. She also loved her family very much and really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ardella is survived by her daughter, Susan (Larry) Nelson, and their children, Teresa (Bernthal) Neil, Rick (Heidi) Nelson, and Joelle Nelson; son, John (Virginia) Bruns, and their children, Jonathan (Lisa) Bruns, and Erin (Rory) Nebben; daughter, Bonnie (Jesse) Cornish, and their children, Jesse (Shelly) Cornish, Brandi (Rick) Miller, and Luke Cornish and his fianc", Leah; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian (Joel) Gerlach; and many nieces and nephews.

Ardella is preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1996; daughter, Jeanne; parents; and 10 brothers and sisters.
