Gladys was born in Minneapolis on July 14, 1921 to George and Margaret Gibson and adopted by Ervin and Ann Miley of Mankato at the age of 9. She was united in marriage to Harold E. Kullberg on July 24, 1948. Gladys and Harold lived a quiet and simple life and shared 61 years together until Harold's passing in 2009. Gladys operated her own beauty parlor in her home in Mankato for many years and later worked in several clothing stores in town. Raising her two boys was the greatest joy of her life.
Gladys was an independent woman who lived in her home with good health until the time of her recent stroke. Gladys liked to exercise and read the paper. She enjoyed news broadcasts, movies, and dining out. She liked to sing and was a church soloist and active in the Mankato Ladies Glee Club during her younger years.
Gladys is survived by two sons, Craig Kullberg of Los Alamos, NM, and Judge Chuck Kullberg and daughter-in-law, Peggy, of Silver Spring, MD along with grandson, Andrew B. Kullberg of Bethesda, MD; and granddaughter, Abigail M. Kullberg of Silver Spring, MD.
The family wishes to thank the many people who have tended to Gladys' needs in most recent years; to the staff of Elder Care, the staff of Oaklawn and the doctors and nurses of Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital as well as many community members and friends; heartfelt appreciation.
