Bryan "Bud" Warmka, 71, of Cleveland, Minn., died peacefully on September 12, 2014, at Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter, Minn. (a hospital he helped oversee the construction of as building inspector) after a long battle with melanoma cancer and congestive heart failure. He was 71 years, 4 months and 3 days of age. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church, Madison Lake with Fr. Schnieder officiating. A visitation will be held 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Mankato Mortuary. Burial will be at St. Casimer Cemetery in Wells at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

Bud Warmka was born May 9, 1943, the fifth child of William and G. Bernice (Dulas) Warmka in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, Minn. He graduated from Wells High School, class of 1961. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou (Jakobe) Warmka on June 10, 1967, at St. Casimir Church in Wells, Minn. Bud had success in many different fields and occupations including as a flight instructor at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and later at Minnesota State University, Mankato; he was also a retail lumber dealer for 18 years as owner of the Wells Builders Supply; and later a building inspector in St. Peter and Montgomery. He was a man who took pride in a job well done.
Among his many interests, Bud enjoyed flying airplanes, fishing, bowling, golfing, gardening, socializing, fixing things around the house and spending time with his family and grandkids at his lake home. Bud always had a project in the works. He had a sharp wit and sarcastic sense of humor. His smile and laughter will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Jakobe) Warmka of Cleveland, Minn.; three children, Anne Warmka, Michael (Colleen) Warmka, and Elizabeth (Steven) Galatz; three grandchildren, Mia and Jacob Warmka, and Garrison Galatz; brothers, Warren (Ruth) Warmka, William (Sharon) Warmka, and sisters, Janet Schultz, Carole (Pete) Berg, and Charlotte Laxen; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and G. Bernice (Dulas) Warmka; his brothers, Robert Warmka and Gary Warmka; brothers-in-law, Clem Schultz and Jim Laxen; and sisters-in-law, Mary (Johnson) Warmka and Sue (Smith) Warmka.
