Dwayne W. Pohl, age 79, died on Monday, September 1, 2014 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary with a 6:45 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Dwayne was born on June 23, 1935 in Mankato to Merle and Elsie (Ward) Pohl. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1953. On October 21, 1977 Dwayne was united in marriage to Connie Rivers. Dwayne worked for the Highway Department for 34 years working on road maintenance. He was a past president of the Mankato Eagle's Club and former member of the Nicollet Conservation Club. Dwayne was a very outgoing person who loved hunting and fishing at the family cabin. He enjoyed camping, vegetable gardening, playing cribbage and bingo, and feeding the birds. Dwayne loved traveling to Mexico and California. He also enjoyed watching the Twins and Vikings.

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Connie of Mankato; two sons, Randy (Renee) of Waconia and Dale (Cindy) of St. Paul; two step-sons, Mike Dewar (MaryAnn Rocha) of Mankato and Glen (Chris) Dewar of Mankato; step son-in-law, Steve Dobie; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Merlese (Arnie) Helget of San Mateo, CA; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Dawson; and step-daughter, Roxanne Dobie.
