On August 19, 2014, the Rev. Victor M. Roth, age 92, was called to his heavenly home by the Ascended Savior Who died on the cross for his and the whole worlds sins. A private burial service will be held at Sakatah Cemetery, Waterville on Thursday, August 21, 2014. A public visitation will be held at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, North Mankato from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014. A Celebration of Life worship will be held at the church at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2014 with visitation one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Mankato Mortuary.
Pastor Roth, after serving 3 years in the Air Force, attended and graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, IL in 1953 and served in the ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod with congregations in the Roseau MN parish of 4 congregations, Trinity, Waterville, and Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Mankato. His service of 61 years in the ministry included sharing the love of the Savior, as District Pastoral Counselor for the LWML, Circuit Pastoral Counselor, hosting TV Program, Key to Happiness on KEYC-TV, Co-founding Camp Omega at Waterville, serving St. Paul's at Waseca as Visitation Pastor, and as a Planned Giving Counselor with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Foundation.
He awaits joining with him and the Savior, his wife Leona of 69 years of marriage, his daughters Rose and husband Robert Barclay, Linda and husband the Rev. Paul Zager, Wendy and husband John Greiner, Daughter-in"law Susan and husband Chuck Stenberg, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, 1 sister and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Danny, his parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
