Lorna G. Hofmeister, age 96, of North Mankato, formerly of Wells, died on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Northview. Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Wells. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to BENCHS (Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society).

Lorna was born August 22, 1917 in Rutland Township, Martin County, Minnesota to Emil and Alma (Henslin) Luckow. She graduated from Fairmont High School. After high school graduation Lorna worked at Northrop State Bank in Northrop, MN and then was employed at Eibners Restaurant and Bakery and Oachs Department Store in New Ulm. On October 3, 1950, Lorna was united in marriage to Wallace Hofmeister in Lafayette. They moved to Wells in 1952. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Lorna moved to the Mankato area in 2003.

Lorna is survived by her son, Gary (Deanna) Hofmeister of North Mankato; granddaughter, Kelly Hofmeister of Roseville; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and two best furry friends, Mollie and Madi. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lucille Vandrey, Viola Alsdorf, Elvira Sytsma, Clarice Kiedaisch, and Sylvia Luckow; brothers, Gordon Luckow and an infant brother.
