Margaret was born on August 30, 1929 to Clarence and Selma (Suby) Larson. She graduated from Washburn High in 1947 and from Macalester College in 1951with a degree in English and Speech Education. Margaret grew up in a loving home with three brothers, Robert, Richard and Charles. The love of her life, Hobert Setzer, Jr., thankfully received the approval of her three brothers and married Margaret on June 20, 1953. After a brief tour at March Airforce Base in Riverside California, Maggie and Hobie settled in Mankato and began to create a wonderful Christian home.

Throughout Margaret's years in Mankato she was a tireless volunteer and faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was active as a sister in PEO, Girl Scouts, YWCA, Thursday Reading Club, the Lutheran Home Auxiliary as well as President of American Field Service (AFS). She also helped build a design business, Free Set Design, with her partner and good friend Betty Freeman.

Margaret helped create many wonderful memories during her life. Her love of standard poodles, ability to create "magic" in the kitchen with her culinary masterpieces, and warm welcome to all is a small reflection of her generous and joyful personality.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Hobert Setzer Jr; her children, Jean (John) Bergo of Lake Forest Park, WA, Ann (Tim) Buskirk of Carmel, IN and Mark Setzer of Huntington Beach, CA; her grandchildren, Emily and Nora Hansen of Seattle, WA and Jack and Ruthie Buskirk of Carmel, IN. Margaret is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, all of whom have enriched her life.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers.

Margaret will best be remembered as a loving wife, amazing mother, auntie, treasured friend, and a woman of faith. Her grace and trust of God's will through the years serves as a role model to all who had the privilege of knowing our beloved wife, mother, and friend.
