LaJune Marion Mock, age 94, of Mankato, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System " Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary, with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church or to an organization of the donor's choice.
LaJune was born January 6, 1920, in St. Paul to Paul and Clara (Schwanke) Polinski. She attended school in St. Clair. LaJune was united in marriage to Arthur Mock on April 7, 1942, in Mankato. She was employed as a dietician at St Joseph's Hospital in Mankato from 1942 until 1946, before becoming a homemaker for her family.
LaJune was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Foresters - St. Joseph's Ct #552. She enjoyed painting, reading, music, dancing, and playing cards with her neighbors. Her favorite time was spent cooking and baking, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. LaJune's home always had an open door and she welcomed all visitors.
LaJune is survived by the joys of her life: her seven children, Duane (Sharon) Mock of North Mankato, Eugene Mock of Kasota, JoAnn (Ejay) Brauch of Eagle Lake, Howard (Barbara) Mock of Mankato, Carmelita (Cedric) Netzke of Nicollet, Lois Mae Mock of Atlanta, GA, and Curtiss Mock of Mankato; fourteen grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence (Rosella) Polinski of Pueblo West, CO; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur in 1994; and son, Charles in 1988.
