Donald Rodell, age 79 of Madison Lake, passed away on June 25, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems " Mankato.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, with Rev. Dawn Carder officiating. A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2014 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue from 10-11:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 28.

Don was born on February 24, 1935 to Archie and Katherine Rodell. He graduated from St. Peter High School and went on to receive an associate degree in agriculture from the University of Minnesota. Don was united in marriage to Darlene Volk on May 20, 1961 at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Mankato. Don worked in construction for many years, acting as a foreman and superintendent for several construction companies as well as running his own construction company.

Don is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughters, Danette (Jay Miller) Rodell-Miller, Dawn (Brian Riley) Rodell-Riley, Darla (Thomas Dahlager) Rodell, and Dena Rodell; grandchildren, Dannah Miller, Tyana Dahlager, Kaden Dahlager, and Liam Riley; aunt, Lena Krueger; and sisters-in-law, Sandra Zitzman, Dorothy Queen, and Florence Barnes.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Katherine; son, Douglas "Digger' Rodell; and several brothers-in-law.
