Darryl died at the Mayo Hospital in Mankato on June 21, 2014. He was born January 17, 1935 in Mankato to Arthur and Helen Nelson. He dedicated his life to education, graduating from Mankato High School, the University of Minnesota with a BA in chemistry and math, and a masters in counseling and education from Mankato State University.
