Mass of Christian burial for Gladys Mae Dedrickson, age 94 of Mankato will be held at the Calvary Chapel in the Calvary Cemetery, Mankato, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ted Hottinger officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at the Calvary Chapel with burial following the service in the Calvary Cemetery.

Gladys Mae (Schickling) Dedrickson was born October 28, 1919 in Garden City, MN to Harvey and Emma (Baumgard) Schickling, the oldest of eight children. She married Ervin Dedrickson, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church after meeting each other at a roller skating rink in Mankato. Together, the couple made their home and raised their family in Mankato. Gladys was a woman of great faith, even through life's toughest of times; she taught her family to make the most it, "What will be, will be." Gladys was the family rock and loved hosting her family and friends for parties, especially during the holiday season. Gladys took great joy in her work at McDonald's, frying fries to a golden perfection for 20+ years! She loved to shop at the local thrift stores and the Dollar Store for trinkets and bargains. Above all, Gladys loved being a mother and grandmother to her family; teaching them, "You can't cry over the cards you were dealt." In 2013, Gladys made Hillcrest Health Care Center her home where she had the best nurses!

On June 20, 2014, Gladys was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, loving husband, Ervin; beautiful daughters, Connie and JoAnn, grandson, John; son-in-law, Ken and several brothers and sisters.

She will be missed by her family including her daughter, Marie and special friend Jim; granddaughters, Carrie, Alesia and Joanna; and grandson, Tom.
