Paul LeRoy Case, age 74, of Garden City, died unexpectedly at his winter home in Harlingen, Texas on Monday, January 13, 2014.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Garden City Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. Private family burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Garden City Christian Church or Garden City Cemetery.

Born January 30, 1939 to Harold and Bernice (Palmby) Case in Mankato. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1957. He attended Ag School in St. Paul and served his country with the U.S. Army from 1959-61, stationed in Germany. He married Carolyn O. Hansen on September 19, 1965 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut, Minnesota. He farmed on the family farm his entire life and continued to help his son after retirement. Paul was an active member of the Garden City Christian Church, a 4-H leader for many years, a member of the Garden City Cemetery Board, and a former member of the Crystal Co-op Board/ He enjoyed polka dancing, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and watching his grandsons grow up.

Paul is survived by three children, Brenda (Richard Vonder Embse) Case of St. Louis, Missouri; Aaron (Amber) Case of Garden City; Cathy (J.D.) Warling of Cedar Rapids, IA; three grandchildren, Bailey, Carter, and Landry Case; three siblings, Irene (Ken) Thompson of Garden City; Lee (Joyce) Case of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; Florence (Al) Gustafson of Riverview, Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kermit and Marilyn Hansen of Lake Crystal; special friend, Connie Roessler; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Carolyn, in 2009.
