Deloris Elaine Hanson, age 93, of Mankato, peaceably went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the Mapleton Community Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. John Petersen, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before service at the church on Wednesday. Private family burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Northview - North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Deloris was born September 7, 1920 to Henry Edwin "Dutch" and Elda Frieda (Malzahn) Hensel in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School. Deloris was united in marriage to Robert H. Schmidt on September 24, 1939 in Mankato. Robert died September 19, 1985. Deloris married Lloyd T. Hanson on August 13, 1988 in Mankato. Deloris worked at Striking Bowling Lanes Restaurant, JC Penney, and at MICO for 16 years before retiring. Deloris was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 37 years. She was a current member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and its Bible study group. A member of the Circle 8 Square Dancers, she enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, dancing, and baking cookies and pies.

Deloris is survived by her husband, Lloyd Hanson of Mankato; two sons, Steve Schmidt and significant other, Connie Campbell of Minneapolis, Tom Schmidt and wife, Linda of Frostproof, FL; six grandchildren, Jessica (Damian) Dembrosky, Matt Schmidt, Timothy (Lisa) Schmidt, Kimberly Lewis, Tammy Ebe, and Jason (Tracey) Schmidt; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert; two brothers, Gordon and Harris; and sister, Detta Jean.
