Harriet V. Nelson, age 89 of Mankato, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family.

Harriet Virginia Anderson was born November 11, 1924 to Nels and Mary (Hagberg) Anderson in Virginia, MN. On February 23, 1946, Harriet was united in marriage to James Nelson. Together they were blessed with 6 children. Over the years Harriet enjoyed fishing, going to different flea markets and taking trips to the casino.

Harriet is survived by her daughter, Marcine Anderson, Waynesville, GA; sons, Dennis (Paulette), Good Thunder, MN, Chuck (Diane), Wheaton, MN, Donald (Frances), Brooklyn Park, and Kurt (Mary), Morris, IL; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Bruce; and grandson, Christopher Nelson.

Harriet's family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Hillcrest Health Care Center for the magnificent care they have given to Harriet.
