Marcella H. Johnston, age 101, of Mapleton, died on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Mapleton Community Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Mapleton with Rev. Jason Kern officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with a 4:45 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in St. Clair at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

Marcella was born on December 22, 1912 in Blue Earth County to Paul and Theresa (Frederick) Denn. She was united in marriage to Maurice Johnston. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Marcella is survived by her son, Terry; grandchildren, Patrick Johnston (Pauline), Michael Johnston (Miranda), Starla Goblirsch, and Amy Klammer; great-grandchildren, Dyllon, Collin, Anthony, Bryce, and Emily; sisters, Mary Langworthy and Lucille Schubbe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jack, Ollie, and Bert; and sisters, Esther, Margaret, and Sister Mary Ethel.
