Ricky J. Gish, age 45 of Winnebago and formerly of rural St. Peter, died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System " Mankato.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:00 " 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Mankato Mortuary, and will continue one hour before the service at church. Burial will be in Montgomery Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery, MN. Memorials may be given to House of Hope or an organization of the donor's choice.
Ricky James was born March 24, 1968 to Jerry and Janet (David) Gish in Mankato. He was baptized in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belgrade Township, Nicollet County on April 7, 1968. Ricky graduated from Mankato West High School in 1986 and attended Jackson Vo-tech in Jackson, MN for two years. Ricky worked as a mechanic, truck driver and metal fabricator for Gish Electric & Trucking. He also worked for Weerts Construction for many years. Ricky loved fishing, metal fabrication, tractor pulls, truck driving, Peterbilt trucks, John Deere tractors and operating equipment.
Ricky is survived by his parents, Jerry and Janet Gish; special friend, Cheryl Arndt; siblings, Diana (Jim) Compart, Linda (Rick) Sachs, and Randy (Lisa) Gish; nieces and nephews, Rudy (Fianc", Anita), Robby, Daniel (Devan) and David (Kaitlyn) Compart, Taylor, Justin and Adian Sachs, and Jacob, Jen, and Joshua Gish; and many other family and friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his infant brother, Michael; maternal grandparents, John and Anna David; paternal grandparents, James and Ida Gish; and several aunts and uncles and one cousin.
