Vivian M. Maurer, age 98, of Lafayette, IN. and formerly of Mankato, died Saturday, December 14, 2013.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Michael Omtvedt, officiating. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Vivian Marie was born May 25, 1915 to Adolph and Marie (Wietzke) Zuberbier in Whiteriver, AZ. She graduated from Immanuel - Mankato in 1936 with a degree in Nursing. On October 24, 1943, Vivian was united in marriage to Arnold Maurer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. They were blessed with two sons. Vivian was an RN at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for many years.

Vivian is survived by her two sons, Richard (Eunice) Maurer and Douglas (Glennis) Maurer; four grandchildren, Troy, Brad, Luke, and Allyson Maurer; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold in 2001; parents; four sisters; and one brother.
