Mary was born October 22, 1923 to August and Emma (Quartier) Seys in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She attended School District 29 through the 7th grade, then Hodapp Country School in Decoria Township for 8th grade and St. Clair High School for 9th grade. She was united in marriage to John D. Depuydt on September 16, 1946 in St. Clair. She worked alongside John on the farm, first in rural Eagle Lake and then for 30 years in Belgrade Township, Nicollet County. After John's death she bought a house in lower North Mankato where she resided for the last 20 years.
Mary was active in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, ladies circle, and was the "coffee lady" serving for various activities at church.
The farm was Mary's life during the time she and John were actively farming. After her move to North Mankato she felt free to "guide" her son, Greg, in the operation of her farm.
She thoroughly enjoyed visiting with and hearing about her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities.
Mary is survived by her six children, Pat (Walt) Schaefer of Winfred, SD, Sandra (Frank) Klinkner of Cambria, Mona (Steve) Woratschka of Montgomery, Greg (Gail) Depuydt of rural North Mankato, Donald Depuydt of Leesburg, Virginia, and Joanne (Tim) Hoehn of Mankato; thirteen grandchildren, Patrice, Walter, Francis, James, Scott, Mike, Amy, Ryan, Stephanie, Laura, Melanie, Aaron, and Paige; nineteen great-grandchildren, Joseph, Addison, Thomas, Sidney, Anders, Christabel, Sara, Hannah, Emma, John, Tyler, Dylan, Nicholas, James, Peyton, Cecilia, Kailey, Brielle, and Charli; two brothers, Jerome (Janice) Seys and George Seys; four sisters-in-law, Ignatia Seys, Janice Seys, Dodie (Joe) Moldan, and Helen Depuydt; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John on March 20, 1992; great-grandson, Luke; siblings, Henry (Irma) Seys, Martha (Valere) Pluym, Hector (Leona) Seys, Oscar (Eileen) Seys, Peter Seys, and Allie Seys; two sisters-in-law, Kay Seys and Shirley Seys; and all the other precious family angels.
