Arlene Melissa Blegen, age 86, of Hastings, died Friday, December 6, 2013, at United Hospital in St Paul.

Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Dan Horn officiating. Interment will be in Kern's Oak Grove Cemetery in rural North Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Arlene was born on October 25, 1927, in Mankato. She was the daughter of Albert and Cora (Johnson) Peterson. Arlene was a graduate of Mankato High School. She was united in marriage to Oris Blegen on November 20, 1954, in Nashua, IA. Arlene was a homemaker for her family. In her youth, she was a member of Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed camping, bowling, watching television, and reading.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Oris of Hastings; three children, Terry (Pam) Blegen of Balsam Lake, WI, Sandi (Jay) Underwood of Hastings, and Peter (Jill) Blegen of St. Bonifacius; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Ryan Truesdell; two sisters, Merle (Tino) Louris and Cleo (Leonard) Holmgren; and a nephew, Tom Louris.
